# \[PROP #33\] Add Kaspa (KAS) as a Base Asset

### **TL;DR**

This proposal seeks to whitelist Kaspa (KAS) as a base asset on Dymension. Following the Beyond Upgrade, this will allow builders to use KAS for liquidity bootstrapping on the launchpad, creation of new KAS pairs on Dymension DEX, and KAS as a gas token for L2s writing their data on the Kaspa network.

### **Context**

Dymension’s recent Beyond Upgrade removed the restriction that required all operations to rely solely on DYM. The network now supports a multi- base asset crypto-economy, allowing approved tokens to function as base assets.

Currently, builders and users are limited in their choice of assets for pricing tokens on DEX, raising funds on the Launchpad, and usage of gas tokens on L2s. While stablecoins like USDC cover the need for pegged assets, there is a big opportunity to integrate leading assets that can benefit from the Dymension platform.

## **Proposal**

We propose adding bridged **KAS** as a whitelisted base asset. Whitelisting **KAS** will enable the following functionalities:

- **Launchpad Asset** : Creators can choose KAS for bootstrapping liquidity on the bonding curve.
- **Liquidity** : LPs can create pools paired directly against KAS (e.g., KAS/USDT) rather than just DYM or USDC.
- **Gas** : L2s can opt to use KAS as their native gas token for transaction fees.

### **Motivation**

Kaspa represents a significant community and a different asset class (Proof-of-Work) compared to the current assets on Dymension.

By adding KAS as a base asset, we unlock huge advantages for the Kaspa community while infusing the Dymension platform with loyal, passionate builders and community members.
